To rise like a phoenix from the ashes is symbolic of the process of being born again, after dying to our old self. When we come to the cross by faith in Jesus, we are ALTARed and allow Christ to die the death we should have died by taking our sin upon Himself. Because Christ is raised from the dead, by faith, we are raised with Him and receive new life through the power of His Holy Spirit. The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead now lives in us, and helps us crucify our sinful flesh. "For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live." (Romans 8:13). With the power of Christ in us, we no longer live because the Holy Spirit now directs our choices. Christ lives in us and through us. Like the phoenix we rise from the ashes of our old self that is dead in sin, to take up Christ's life in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Father I would first like to thank you for the person who reads this and for Your incredible love for them and calling on their life. I pray that You would move in power to guide them to surrender their lives at the cross of Jesus Christ. Give them strength to lay down the ashes of their sin, pride, shame, guilt, and rebellion. As they turn to You in true repentance wash them clean by the sacrifice of Your Son Jesus' blood. Help them to know that the old self is crucified with Christ, so that the power of Your Holy Spirit can live IN them. Our only righteousness is IN You. Father, I pray that the new life of Christ would be IN them as Christ is IN You. By the blood of Jesus, I ask that they be filled with the Holy Spirit even right now. May they live an ALTARed life from this day forward agreeing with Your Word, "I no longer live, but Christ lives in me."
